KOROUVA FANS REJOICE! THE KOROUVA VINYLS HAVE RETURNED!
It has been two and a half years since Korouva’s entire vinyl LP inventory disappeared. In May of 2014, The wife of Wilhelm Dewart, the proprietor and creative mind behind the Khrysanthoney Company, who gorgeously released my back catalog on limited color and standard vinyl, informed me that Will had committed suicide. Mired in the process of coping with their grief, the family lost all connection to the Khrsanthoney inventory and my music and design work were considered lost forever. Due to its immediate scarcity, what few known existing copies started to sell on discogs.com at premium prices, but all I cared about was that my music was available to people in the format for which it was made to be listened.
In October 2016, a Korouva collector from New York contacted me because he thought he had found the vinyl at Aquarius Records which, historically founded during the Summer of ’69, was the oldest independent record store in San Francisco. I contacted the owner and he told me that Aquarius Records was in the process of selling off the business to the reissue label, Superior Viaduct, which also runs an Oakland record store called Stranded and that the San Francisco location would become their second Stranded store location.
Consequently, Andee Connors, the original owner of Aquarius Records (who wrote of the Korouva trilogy on their website, “Gorgeous, haunting, mesmerizing stuff, we of course recommend getting all three”), hoped to return the remaining records but since Will’s death, wasn’t certain to where he should send them. It was rare luck that we connected when we did and Andee generously returned the remaining inventory to me so I could make them available once again! I’m deeply indebted to Andee Connors of the now defunct Aquarius Records not only for the vinyl but also his detailed and generous reviews of each album, which are published on each title's page on this site.
Of course none of this would have been possible without the audacity and passion of Wilhelm Dewart of Khrysanthoney, to whom I’m indebted for allowing my music to be made available in the format closest to my heart.
Beginning in 2017, Shipwrecks & Russian Roulette (2007), Sleepwalker (2009) and Unbearable Romance (2011) will all be available to purchase on standard vinyl for $25 each, not including shipping and handling.
All album artwork was designed by yours truly, packaged in thick full color jackets with eight page lyric booklets and Khrysanthoney inserts.
Additionally, because this has been such an abysmal year for the whole world and we could all do with a break, I’m offering these titles for 15% off through the month of December.
As Andee Connors writes in his reviews, these three albums loosely make a trilogy and so I’m offering ALL THREE vinyls, PLUS Nidus, the cassette versions (Cloister Recordings), for 25% off. Nidus not only contains these three recordings and corresponding lyric booklet containing all original album artwork, but also the FEVER EP, available exclusively in the cassette collection only. ALL for the low price of $74.
THIS SPECIAL OFFER IS LIMITED TO ONLY TEN!! SO ACT NOW!!
Both the 15% off individual vinyl titles and the $74 offer for the entire trilogy on both vinyl and cassette ends on January 01, 2017.
